TECHNICAL PRODUCTION

Technical Difficulty

Technical installation of VR World happened over an intensive two week period, at which time all computers and electronics were catalogued, updated, and loaded with remote management and RFID software.

Over 50 bays were created on two floors of the space, each including a full VR setup, viewing monitor, and an RFID check-in podium.

Brute force user testing ironed out bugs in the software and identified challenges in technical maintenance.  We sourced a new technology director from ITP to take over day to day technology management, and created a maintenance manual for ongoing operations.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT

RFID System

VR World's RFID wristband system allows visitors to purchase a ticket, and then have access to every game in the venue.

Users choose the experience they would like to play, and tag themselves into line using an tablet installed into each individual bay.  They receive a text message that tells them what position they are in line, and how much time it will be until their turn.

Once a user's turn is up, they tap into the bay again, and the experience starts.  After 5 - 10 minutes, the timer is up and the game goes black, allowing a new user to swap out.
