A Sober Hallucination
After a successful pop-up of The Oddly Satisfying Spa, I decided to take the next step in creating a long-term spa experience. My plan was to create another multi-sensory environment full of tactile stimulation, psychedelic visuals, oddly satisfying artist, and sound meditations. I scoured the streets of Brooklyn for an affordable year-long lease and came upon a disheveled basement in Brooklyn that felt like a complete escape from the streets of the city. I went to work painting the walls, designing the floors, constructing imaginative architecture, and breaking all the rules. I teamed up with David Lobser, an amazing creative technologist and virtual reality genius, as well as a number of other artists and technologists to build what would become a very unique, 2 hour experience that has been described as a “waking hallucination”. There was something for everyone in this version of The Oddly Satisfying Spa, and it is impossible to explain what any individual experience was like. And that was the point! Just like ASMR, this spa brought to light that everyone has different sensitivities and each individual mind perceives the world in its own unique way.

Rainbow Therapy
Our Rainbow Waterbed treatment makes use of an adjustable strobe light, with bioacoustic harmonics and audible frequencies, both binaural and isochronic, to put users into a deeply meditative state. The computer-controlled interaction of the light source and acoustic transducers activate different ways of experiencing an intense world of color and form. Users have experienced visual patterns and the illusion of horizontal movement, almost like swinging. The bed is designed for 3 - 20 minute sessions and is experienced with closed eyes.
Senscape
Senscape is a collection of meditative, passive virtual reality vignettes. Senscape’s benefits are best experienced after long exposure to each scene, when the brain is able to pick up on micro changes in the procedurally generated graphics. Users have reported feeling calm and focused after about 5 minutes.
Kinetic Sand Dome
Distort you point of view and mush and manipulate the strange and satisfying composition of kinetic sand in our covered dome.
Sound Stones
Discover augmented listening in our sea stone-filled enclosure. Consider the power of our ears to define realities and set tone. Featuring HEAR app.
The Fuzzidarium
Curl up in the soft embrace and soothing purr of our faux fur-covered cozy space while meditating between three psychedelic VR headsets.
Cloud Bathroom
Created by the team at Joylab, our cloud bathroom suprised visitors when they locked the door with a rotating LED lit cloud installation and the sound of rain. When a visitor used the sink, the LED and audio changed to evoke a thunderstorm. Once the door unlocked, the hallway became a rainbow of chirping birds.
Sonic Sauna
Our Sonic Sauna is an intimate audio space for up to 6 people designed for rotating organic ASMR inspired sound baths. ASMR is a feeling of well-being combined with a tingling sensation in the scalp and down the back of the neck, as experienced by some people in response to a specific gentle stimulus, often a particular sound. Visitors to our sauna report entering a deep dream-like state guided by audio moments of tension and release. Our current journey focuses on the 5 elements - Fire, Water, Earth, Air, and Space. The audio was gathered by our sound designer, Matt McCorkle.
Celestial Flow
Celestial Flow is a virtual reality particle sandbox tool. Users manipulate over 1 million particles using just their hands. Celestial flow is experienced in 7 minute sessions where guests learn and utilize gestures to create new patterns and particle flow. This experience is designed to place users into a creative flow state. Guests report feeling powerful and creative.
Infinity Chamber
Relax & play with dimension in our digital/physical kaleidoscope. Sample refraction glasses, and use the candles to change projected patterns.
Lux TV
Flip through curated CRT channels of oddly satisfying digital artists while playing with a selection of delightful sensory toys.
Yogibo Lounge
